Whiteley Village Summer Fair 11/7/26

Hi everyone

Here is as much info as I currently have for the concert. Be sure to check back here on the day in case I have added or amended any details…..

We are on between 1 30 and 2 30 at the Community Cafe next to the Village Hall as marked on the map below. Aim to get to the performance area about half an hour before.

Bring your stands and music but when we get there try to find somebody to share with to keep the stage clutter down. Bring pegs for the music to stop it blowing around, get everything in the right order and get tuned up before we start!

Hopefully we will be under a gazebo but a hat and sun cream might be wise.

There will be parking! Here is the address – Whiteley Village, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, KT12 4ES

Here is the running order, I may drop one or two depending on how we are doing for time.

Amarillo, Country Roads, Daydream Believer, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Delilah, Five Hundred Miles, Help, It Must Be Love, Ring Of Fire, See You Later Alligator, Sit Down, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life

I’ve had a update from Terry regarding tomorrow –

  • You have to enter Whiteley Village via Northern Avenue (The western avenue off Seven Hills Road is closed on a Saturday)
  • There is parking for the musicians – drive along Northern Ave till you see The Old Church, at the cross roads drive straight over (Southern Ave). At the end of the road there is a nursery school, park in the car park there (to the right of the school). The Community Cafe where we are playing is signposted.
  • You are welcome to bring family and friends to watch, should be a good day for the children. There will be 30 stalls and various attractions (tractors, fire engines, classic cars etc). Ice creams, burgers, pimms and all sorts of refreshments will be available. And there is a raffle too!
  • Other parking is available on Rugby pitch

See you there

Set for 16/6/26, Whiteley Village Summer Fete Gig, Uke Festival, Burwood Home Concert….

Hi everybody

Well done to everyone who played at Burwood the other day. It was a great success and they are keen to have us back! Maybe we will get over there towards the end of the year if people are willing.

One of our members, Terry, is a resident at Whiteley Village near Cobham. They are putting on a fete on Saturday 11/7/2026 between 11 and 4, and he has said there is a possibility for us to play. If you are up for it and available please let me know either by email or at the session and we can take it from there.

I had an email from Sandra who has come along to some sessions in the past with her partner Andrew. She thought some of us might be interested in the ‘Vibrant Ukefest’ which is happening on Saturday 27 June in Worcester Park. There’ll be workshops with Phil Doleman and Tara Maysey of the London Ukulele Project.  See the flyer below.

The set for the 16th is as follows. There is one new tune – Good Golly Miss Molly I will have spare copies so you don’t have to print them all out unless you want to!

Should I Stay Or Should I Go – SOS – Sound Of Silence – Surfing USA – Sweet Caroline – This Ole House – Venus – Wake Me Up Before You Go Go – When I’m 64 – Whiskey In The Jar – Whole Lotta Shakin/Chantilly Lace – You Really Gotta Hold On Me – You Wear it Well – You’re The One That I Want – Good Golly Miss Molly
