Well done to everyone for getting through all the September concerts. They were great fun and I think we did a really good job at all of them!
Here is the set for Tuesday with one new song. There are a couple of trickyish ones that we haven’t played for a while but there are a few easyish ones too……

Please check this page on the day of the concerts in case I have had to update any of the details.

Surbiton Festival – Sat 26/9/26
We are on at2 45 on the Claremont Gardens Stage. Please turn up half an hour before. Claremont Gardens is a small park very near Surbiton Train Station and Waitrose.
We will play for 30 to 35 minutes.
Brings pegs to hold the music! The weather is currently looking good but keep your fingers crossed. Bring a stool if you want to sit down. Otherwise bring a strap.
There is a big car park behind Surbiton Station (Glenbuck Road) which should be OK to use if you need parking. Alternatively come by bus or train! Here is a link to the website which has all the info – see it here (it has a handy site map) . A couple of the main streets will be closed but there will be lots of people in Hi Viz jackets to ask if you get stuck.
Whiteley Village – Tue 29/9/26
We will be playing at6 30, try to arrive between 5 30 and 6 if possible. Terry and his granddaughter are playing beforehand which will be good.
We will play for about 45 to 50 mins.
We are playing in the Village Clubhouse next to the village hall (see map below). You will need to go in via the North Entrance (off Burwood Road) and can park near the Village Nursery School.
(Apparently the Seven Hills Road West Entrance is closed at this time of day.)
Whiteley Village, Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 4BF, England
We are getting paid in cafe food and drink tokens, it was very nice stuff when we played there over the summer.

Next Tuesday we will be rehearsing for the upcoming Surbiton Festival (Saturday 26th September 2.45 Claremont Gardens) and the Whiteley Village Founder’s Day Concert (Tuesday 29th between 5 and 8)
It will basically be the same set that we have been playing at the gigs this month but I have added four easy and reliable gig tunes to the start of the set. (From Waterloo onwards it is the same as before minus Shake Rattle and Roll and Should I Stay or Should I Go)
See You Later Alligator – Five Hundred Miles – Dedicated Follower Of Fashion – Delilah – Waterloo – Help – Hi Ho Silver Lining – My Way – Jonny B Goode – Sit Down – Stuck In The Middle With You – Urban Spaceman – River Deep Mountain High – These Boots are Made For Walking – Wild Rover – Bring Me Sunshine
We managed to raise £560 at the Fight Against Blindness gig, well done everybody. Connie from the charity thanked us and said everyone enjoyed it.
The Whiteley Village Founders Concert is apparently happening but the details are not as yet confirmed. All I know so far is it is on Tuesday 29th September probably between 5 and 8.
Coming up before that is the Surbiton Festival in Claremont Gardens on the 26th, we will be on at 2 45 for 35 mins.
I will post again next week with a set for the session on the 22nd which will incorporate some of the songs we’ve been playing at the recent gigs plus a couple of others too.
They have asked us to turn up at 2 30 (they can’t get into the room before that!)
Here is the address – The Methodist Church, Ashley Road Epsom KT18 5AQ
They have said they only have a few parking permits, I have already allocated two of those last night at the rehearsal. If you are able park in the Ashley Centre car park, the Town Hall Car park or the Depot Road Car park. They are all pretty close.
We will play – Happy Birthday (because it is their birthday celebration, see the music here) – Waterloo – Shake Rattle and Roll – Help – Hey Good Lookin’ – Should I Stay Or Should I Go – Hi Ho Silver Lining – My Way – Urban Spaceman – These Boots Are Made For Walking – Wild Rover – Bring Me Sunshine
Then for the FAB concert on the 8th we will add in the others –
Waterloo – Shake Rattle and Roll – Help – Hey Good Lookin’ – Should I Stay Or Should I Go – Hi Ho Silver Lining – My Way – Jonny B Goode – Sit Down – Stuck in the Middle – Urban Spaceman – River Deep Mountain High – These Boots Are Made For Walking – Wild Rover – Bring Me Sunshine
We will start at 8pm. Please if possible pay cash for this evening, then I can give it straight to the charity.
Bring your stands and folders to both gigs. I would like us to share folders on stage and then hand out the spare folders to the audience so they can sing-a-long!
Check back on both days in case I have updated the details…….
Hi everyone, hope you have been having a nice summer.
Here are the songs we will be playing at the next session (Tue Aug 25), the Epsom WI Birthday Event (Wed Sep 2) and the Fight Against Blindness Charity set (Tue Sep 8). They will probably also form the set we will play at the Surbiton Festival too (Sat 26 Sep Stage Time now confirmed 2.45). I have tried to avoid songs we played at these events last year…..
Help – Hey Good Lookin’ – Hi Ho Silver Lining – Jonny B Goode – My Way – River Deep Mountain High – Shake Rattle and Roll – Should I Stay or Should I Go – Sit Down – Stuck In The Middle With You – These Boots Are Made For Walking – Urban Spaceman – Waterloo – Wild Rover – Bring Me Sunshine
This is the long list, I will whittle it down to 10/12 tunes after the rehearsal and put it in a better order.
We will have a break until the 25th August after this session. All the dates for the second half of the year are posted below.
Here is the set with one new tune, a tribute to Bonnie Tyler…..
San Francisco Bay Blues – Somewhere Only We Know – Spirit In The Sky – Stand By Me – Starman – Streets Of London – Subterranean Homesick Blues – Sway – Tainted Love – Teenage Kicks – That’s Life – The Weight – Walk Like An Egyptian -Walk Of Life – Holding Out For a Hero
A couple of them have there moments in terms of difficulty but remember you don’t have to play every chord or sing every line!
Back in the USSR, Shake Rattle and Roll, Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay, She, Stuck in the Middle with You (IN G), The Ace of Spades, Good Golly Miss Molly, My Way, Three Little Birds, Walk Like a Man, Walking on Sunshine, Without You, With a Little Help From My Friends, You’re My Best Friend, You’re So Vain
BBC weather says it will be a chilly 26 degrees by 8pm on Tuesday, bring your jumpers
Here is as much info as I currently have for the concert. Be sure to check back here on the day in case I have added or amended any details…..
We are on between 1 30 and 2 30 at the Community Cafe next to the Village Hall as marked on the map below. Aim to get to the performance area about half an hour before.
Bring your stands and music but when we get there try to find somebody to share with to keep the stage clutter down. Bring pegs for the music to stop it blowing around, get everything in the right order and get tuned up before we start!
Hopefully we will be under a gazebo but a hat and sun cream might be wise.
There will be parking! Here is the address – Whiteley Village, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, KT12 4ES
Here is the running order, I may drop one or two depending on how we are doing for time.
Amarillo, Country Roads, Daydream Believer, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Delilah, Five Hundred Miles, Help, It Must Be Love, Ring Of Fire, See You Later Alligator, Sit Down, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life
I’ve had a update from Terry regarding tomorrow –
You have to enter Whiteley Village via Northern Avenue (The western avenue off Seven Hills Road is closed on a Saturday)
There is parking for the musicians – drive along Northern Ave till you see The Old Church, at the cross roads drive straight over (Southern Ave). At the end of the road there is a nursery school, park in the car park there (to the right of the school). The Community Cafe where we are playing is signposted.
You are welcome to bring family and friends to watch, should be a good day for the children. There will be 30 stalls and various attractions (tractors, fire engines, classic cars etc). Ice creams, burgers, pimms and all sorts of refreshments will be available. And there is a raffle too!
