Fab Concert on the 22/10/24 Set List and Info

Hi everyone

Here is the set list for next Tuesday – All Shook Up, Bad Moon Rising, The Bare Necessities, Daydream Believer, Ring Of Fire, Hi Ho Silver Lining, When I’m Sixty-Four, Help, It Must Be Love, Karma Chameleon, Sway, These Boots Are Made For Walking, Waterloo, What A Wonderful World (SAM COOKE)

If you want to see photos of the music you will find them in recent posts from the last couple of sessions.

THERE ARE A FEW TICKETS LEFT so if you know anyone who wants to come please let me know asap.

Things to remember…..

Bring your music in the correct order. I’d like to have half the folders on stage with us and then pass the other folders out to the audience so they can sing-a-long! Try to tune up with a tuner before we start, quite a few of us have one to borrow if you haven’t got your own one.

Feel free to sit or stand while we are playing, if you are standing don’t forget your strap! You will need your kazoo for ‘Ring of Fire’ too. (I have kazoos if anyone hasn’t got one yet).

Please bring £10 cash on the night as opposed to paying online for this session. Once the hall has been paid for we will donate the rest of the money to the charity there and then!

Feel free to come and play even if you haven’t played with us for a while, or you are new. The more the merrier.

A reminder of the who we are playing for…..

We will be aiming to start at 8/8.05

Looking forward to it!

Set List for 8/10/24, practise for FAB concert on the 22/10/24

Hi everyone, we have the FAB charity performance on the 22nd (our third year of doing it!). I will draw the set from what we played at the Surbiton Festival (well done everyone by the way, it was a triumph) and what we will play next Tuesday. The set list for the 8th will be as follows –

All Shook Up, Baby I Love You, The Bare Necessities, *The Galaxy Song* (Monty Python), Chatanooga Choo Choo, Daydream Believer, Folsom Prison Blues/Pinball Wizard, Ghost Riders In The Sky, Hallelujah, Happy, Hi Ho Silver Lining, Help, Shake Rattle and Roll, Sixteen Tons, Sway, What A Wonderful World (SAM COOKE)

You can see the songs here, I will bring spare copies on Tuesday.

Any singers, ukists or guitarists out there who want to come and join in, we’d love to see you! Look at the Info page for more details and just turn up or contact me if you have any questions.

Set list and info for the gig on Sat 28/9/24

Hi everyone, the set list is as follows for Sat –

Amarillo, Bad Moon Rising, Happy Together, It Must be Love, Ring of Fire, Karma Chameleon, These Boots are made for Walking, When I’m 64, Waterloo, Five Hundred Miles

We may not get through all of them, it all depends if the stage is running on time. If everyone can be there around half an hour before we go on that would be great. Bring a stand, if you can play standing up do so, if not bring something to sit on! Also bring a couple of pegs to stop your music blowing around. We are on at 1.45. The weather is currently looking good but I’m keeping everything crossed…..We are on the Claremont Gardens stage where we’ve played before -see the map link below. (I originally throught and may have said that we were on the other stage!!!)

Any questions or if I’ve forgotten anything then drop me a line!

The following info is from the organiser –

Attend around 30mins in advance of your scheduled time, perform, then allow 5-10mins or so for the next act to get ready before their start time.

How to get here

There’s a site map showing the Claremont stage here: https://www.surbitonfestival.co.uk/

The town area is generally subject to parking restrictions, and some central streets will be closed to traffic throughout the day – but, Surbiton station is nearby and there’s a large car park behind it in Glenbuck rd

If in doubt, ask one of the high-viz vest Marshalls

Stage

If you use backing tracks, please bring something that connects to mini jack, XLR or 1/4″ jack

If you’re plugging in power supplies, make sure they’re safe and in good condition

The sound guys Howard and Olly will look after you

Running Order

The running order is published here: https://www.surbitonfestival.co.uk/music2024, the facebook page (if you want to link to events/etc) is here: https://www.facebook.com/SurbitonFestival

Set for 24/4/24 and gig on the 28th

Hi everyone, here is the set for next Tuesday. I’ve tried to get together a set with a bit of variety but most of them are pretty straight forward sing-a-long numbers bar the odd bit of finger picking or kazooing.

Amarillo, Bad Moon Rising, Five Hundred Miles, Happy Together, I Heard it Through The Grapevine, It Must Be Love, Karma Chameleon, Rhinestone Cowboy, Ring Of Fire, Stuck in the Middle, That’ll be the Day, These Boots are made for Walking, Top of the World, Waterloo, Waterloo Sunset, When I’m 64

We will then do 8 to 10 of the best of these the following Saturday at the concert at Claremont Gardens. Here is a link to the Surbiton Festival website It will be very relaxed and good fun, don’t worry if you haven’t played in public before.

As always, if you can make the gig but not the rehearsal that is totally fine, and vice versa. The more of us the better though!

We are on at 1 45. I was sent an email with the following – ‘the general arrangement is: attend around 30mins in advance of your scheduled time, perform, then allow 5-10mins or so for the next act to get ready before their start time.’

There is parking in the Sainsburys Car Park and Waitrose Car Park but the on street stuff will probably have restrictions so bear that in mind.I think if you go far enough up Balaclava Road or Lovelace Road it eventually becomes free but it might be a bit of a walk!

Set fo 10th Sept 24

Hi everyone, here is the set for next Tuesday…..

Make You Feel My Love, Rock Around The Clock, Sixteen Tons, SOS, Starman, Stuck in the Middle With You, Summer of 69, Sway, Tainted Love, The Boxer, The Letter, Urban Spaceman, Walking On Sunshine, Waterloo Sunset, What a Wonderful World (Armstrong), Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow

You can see the music by clicking on this link, but I will bring spare copies so you don’t need to print it all out!

If you are new and are thinking of coming down you will be very welcome! Check out the Session Info page and just turn up or drop me a line if you have any questions…..
