Here is a link to photos of the music (hopefully in order) for next Tuesday
Set and info for the 14th September
Hi everyone!
Here is an update for next week.
I will do the setlist in a minute but just wanted to give you some info…..
There are 12 parking spaces in the church car park for people using the building and unrestricted street parking all around.
Please come to the door around the back on the left (Church Lane side).
We will start at 8pm but feel free to get there a little early as we’ll have to all sign in and set the room up. This will include wiping down the chairs etc. There should also be hand sanitizer there for everyone to use.
Please bring a music stand if you have one. If not you might have to prop your music up on a spare chair……
Here is the set list! There are a couple of nods to recently departed stars…..we will be using the same chord sheets as before so bring your music (I will bring spares of the old stuff and plenty of copies of the tune which is brand new to the group).
Blue Suede Shoes (in A Major), Ballad of John and Yoko (D), Don’t Stop (D), Girls just want to have fun (G), Jolene (Am), Hallelujah (G), Crocodile Rock (G), NEW***All I have to do is Dream*** (D), Paint it Black (Dm), Honky Tonk Women (G), Don’t Worry Be Happy (C), Only You (C), I’ll Never Fall in Love Again (D), Happy Together (D), Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (G)
Should be a cracker! Beth and I are really looking forward to seeing everyone again.
We’re back……
Hi everyone.
We are very happy to announce we are going to restart again soon! It’s been such a long time and Beth and I have missed the sessions very much.
There will be a few changes –
Firstly we will now be meeting in the second hall at Chessington Methodist Church. I’ve put the address, transport and parking details on the session info page. The room is considerably larger than the room we used to meet in so we can spread out a bit more.
Secondly, I am now going to run the group weekly but with breaks which will roughly fit in with the school holidays. The number of sessions over the year will not be that dissimilar, and there is no obligation to come every week.
The day and time will remain the same – Tuesday 8 to 9 30pm – and we will be starting on the 14th of September. After that we are booked in for the 21st, 28th, and then the 5th,12th and 19th of October.
Thirdly, now seems as good a time as any to do a price change (well it does to me anyway!). I haven’t actually changed the price since I started the group in 2015. Now it will be £9 for an individual session paying on the night, or if you want to pay for 5 sessions at a time it will be £8 a session (£40 lump sum). There is no time limit to get through those 5 sessions and they can carry over from term to term. If you are genuinely struggling to afford that please contact me and we can sort something out…….
You will need to bring a music stand, or find someone to share with.
Regarding Covid protocols – we will be using hand sanitizers and wiping down the chairs etc, and will be taking a register so we know who has been at the session.
I will be posting up the set list closer to the time as per usual. Beth and I are really looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces again, and hope to welcome new members too! It’s all about having fun, making friends and playing some fun music with no pressure! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
All the best
Chris
YouTube lockdown sessions
Hi everyone, we now have 2 lockdown youtube sessions uploaded, have a play a long at our channel – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChbSWCBQeF7ljG7A_hxYo7Q?view_as=subscriber
Fun videos to play along with….
If you are missing playing in the group why not have a look at this useful site – you can play along to orginal tracks with the chords appearing on the screen!
Sessions cancelled….
Hi everyone, unfortunately I am going to cancel the sessions for a while. I will let you know when we can start back up again. It is a real shame we all can’t meet up; Beth and I will really miss it!
If any of you want to have a play via whatsapp or skype let me know. This would be a one on one session at an appointed time. Basically what I thought is if people want to play 5 songs of their choice from the repertoire we can do it online! I’ll count us in and play as normal and you can just play along at home. I tried it with Beth and it seemed OK – it’s obviously not ideal but if you are feeling desperate to play or just fancy the company then it will be better than nothing. I’d charge £7.50 for that, you can either pay it into my bank or, if you don’t do online banking, we’ll just keep track and you can pay me back later. If you don’t have whatsapp or skype but want it let me know and I’ll try and help….
Anyway, all the best to all of you
Chris and Beth
