Hi everyone,

The next session (30th October) will be suitably ghastly, scary, and horrifying…..and not just in the usual way 😉

I’ve picked out these little monsters for us – Bad Moon Rising, Delilah, Friday I’m in Love, Ghost Riders in the Sky (Em), I’ve put a spell on you (Creedence version in Am), Living Doll, Monster Mash, Paint it Black, People are Strange, Pyscho Killer, She’s not There, Spirit in the Sky, Spooky

And we will start with some of the recent new ones – That’ll be the Day, She, Rabbit

16th October Session

Hi all, the next session will on the 16th, all are welcome! Details are available in the links above.

I haven’t had a chance to totally nail the set down yet but we are going to do a Motown/Spector special and will feature most of the following tunes – And then I Kissed her, Be my Baby, Da do Ron Ron, Dancing in the Street, I heard it through the Grapevine, Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay, Tainted Love, Tracks of my Tears, Will you still love me tomorrow, You can’t hurry love

We will also be doing ‘Do you love me‘ (I think this will be in A), probably doing ‘Please Mr Postman‘  (in either D or G I think).

Session on the 2nd

The next session is on the 2nd in the studio at Hook Library as normal. All the details can be found on the ‘session info’ link above.

The set will (probably) include –  Big yellow taxi, Blue Suede Shoes,  Budapest, Crazy, Creeque Alley, Girls just want to have fun, Handbags and Gladrags,  I heard it through the grapevine,  Should I stay or should I go, The Ace of Spades, The Boxer, When I’m 64, You make me feel like a natural woman, plus we will be trying ‘Dancing in the Street‘ in G

Session on the 18th

Hi all, the next session will be a week today, usual time and place.

The set will include Say a Little Prayer, Lola, Help, Sweet Caroline, The Weight, Tainted Love, Wake me up before you go go, Whisky in the Jar, You’re the One that I Want, Ukulele Lady,  Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bridge over Troubled Water plus two new ones   – Sitting on the Dock of the Bay (in G) and I Heard it through the Grapevine (Am).

Next session and gig news…

Hi everybody

We have a gig booked! It is on the 27th March at the George Evelyn Open Mic Night in Long Ditton; I think we will be on at around 8 30.

I’ve got next weeks set for the group session (on the 20th) sorted out and the seven song set for the gig will come from it, so if anyone wants to do a bit of practise then they can. But the gig really is nothing to worry about for any of you who haven’t played before – not only is there safety in numbers but also the crowd who come to these nights are very friendly. And the word ‘crowd’ is an exaggeration.

Don’t worry if you can’t/aren’t sure about/definitely don’t want to do the gig – everyone is welcome to the session at the library as normal.

No particular theme, just a couple of new ones and then some classics including SOS, Delilah, Stuck in the Middle, Mr Blue Sky (uh oh!), Love me do….

Come down and join in! Even if you are a bit shy and only know a couple of chords – it’s the perfect to play music with other people with no pressure.

Next session on the 22/8

Hi everyone, the next session will be on the 22/8. I think we will be doing some sort of tribute to Glen Campbell who aswell as singing classics like Rhinestone Cowboy and Witchita Lineman also played as a session musician on loads of ace tracks. I just need to remember which ones and then work out if we can play them……..

In other news, one of Beth and my recent albums is available to buy/stream on Amazon now, if you like downbeat cello/piano music (somebody must????) have a look here.

Anyway, we’re off on holiday now, so see you when we get back.

Beatles Special

Hi everyone,

The next session is on Tuesday 8th August, and we will be spending about half the time playing a selection of Beatles classics including I Saw her Standing there, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Help, The Ballad of John and Yoko and loads of other good ones.

Should be good fun, feel free to turn up in those round John Lennon Glasses or Sgt. Pepper outfits……I will be coming as the Walrus…..
