Should be good fun. New members of any standard are welcome, if you don’t play a instrument you are still welcome to come and sing a long!
First up here is the info regarding the Seething Sardine Festival this coming Sunday 5/5. I’m hoping to see lots of you there! It will be great fun, and the more of us the better, so even if you weren’t at the rehearsal last week come anyway. It would be great to have a nice big troupe of ukeists, guitarists and singers!
We are on stage at 12pm, so please aim to get there by 11.45 (Beth and I will be aiming for 11 30). Have the set ready in this order – Proud Mary, Country Roads, Dirty Old Town, The Irish Rover, It Must Be Love, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, Sunny Afternoon, Sloop John B, and then if we need an encore Hi Ho Silver Lining.
Then hopefully lots of you will stick around to sing the two shanty songs by the river at 2 20 to 2 30 after a procession to get down there. I think there will a few bits and bobs going on to keep us entertained in between.
It is in a little park called Claremont Gardens (not St Andrews Square as I previously thought!) This is in Surbiton town centre, next to the Waitrose. Watch out if you are putting it into a sat nav, there is a road nearby called Claremont Gardens!
I doubt if there will be chairs there so stand if you can or bring a seat! Because we are playing outside I would suggest pegs for the music. And maybe bring a brolly just in case but lets hope it stays dry! We will try to have as few stands up as possible so pick a stand buddy.
As for parking, you could try the Waitrose car park or the Sainsbury’s car park in the town, and there is a small car park on St Phillips Road. Most of the residential roads require permits in the week but I get the impression from the Kingston Council Website they mostly don’t apply on Sundays.
I think that is everything but feel free to send me any questions. Keep an eye on your email on the day just in case!

I haven’t managed to get a lot of info for you as yet regarding the gig on the 5th, but hopefully by Tuesday things will be clearer! Essentially we will be turning up in Surbiton in the daytime on the 5th and knocking out some of the following classics….. You may notice a few with river/sea references, plus I’ve tried to cover all bases for potential weather scenarios. Aside from that there are some easy sing-a-long numbers.
